Or - I first noticed this accidentally 20 years ago after a hot shower in an unfamiliar hotel room - try lifting your arms overhead. It's worked for me ever since, whenever my blood vessels get dilated and I stand up quickly. Might work for other postural hypertension, and of course this approach is much more obvious to others than the methods Drs Thompson and Levine suggest, but similarly might get blood quickly to the brain.
This is super useful, Paul. It doesn't happen often but I've become lightheaded when standing up before. Thanks for writing.
